In Flight Roaming
Introduction
Ooredoo in-flight roaming services are available on a number of carriers so that Shahry (postpaid) customers can use their mobile phones and PDAs on flights equipped with AeroMobile and OnAir communication systems.
Their equipment gives Ooredoo customers the opportunity to make and accept calls as well as send and receive SMS during their flight.
Billing takes place in the normal way with roaming charges clearly shown on monthly statements.
The service is available with Emirates and Oman Air and is regularly updated and reviewed with the intention of extending to other airlines in the near future.
This service includes voice and SMS at this point in time and data roaming will be in place in the coming months.
Passengers onboard an aircraft will be made aware that the network is available through crew announcements, in-seat pocket information and via overhead signs. The service is operated at cruising altitude only and not during taxi, take-off or landing.
No special settings are required and it’s as easy as roaming in another country.
