Making digital payments more rewarding, pay+, a mobile wallet launched by Ooredoo and the National Bank of Oman (NBO), is giving customers zero international remittance charges on money transfers to India. From 4 February to 4 March 2020, everybody can take advantage of this exclusive offer and save OMR 1.5 when sending money to India, valid on an unlimited number of transactions. With the ability to transfer funds instantly and securely, it’s just one of a host of benefits available when using the new pay+ app, and one of many ways Ooredoo and NBO are driving innovation in the Sultanate.

Feras bin Abdullah Al Shaikh, Consumer Director at Ooredoo, said, “pay+ enables customers to transfer money abroad straight from their mobile device, taking away the need to travel to an exchange facility. And with remittance charges being eliminated for one month, there’s no better time to send money to your loved ones. We currently offer our international money transfer service to any bank in India, with more destinations to be added in the near future. It’s the latest in a string of offers and incentives through which Ooredoo is enriching the digital lives of customers.”

Approved by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Central Bank of Oman, the new service allows customers to use their phones to pay in restaurants and stores, transfer money locally and internationally, top-up mobile credit, make bill payments, and make withdrawals and deposits, all through one easy-to-use app. Moreover, robust security features mean that payment information is protected.
