Committing to ongoing sustainable development
On September 25th 2015, 193 world leaders will commit to 17 Global Goals to achieve 3 extraordinary things in the next 15 years: end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and fix climate change.
The above can be accomplished with collective effort put toward sustainable development goals, and Ooredoo is committed to playing a part in it.
Ooredoo is committed to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to eradicate extreme poverty, improve the lives of people and create an all-round healthier world for tomorrow.
In 2023, Ooredoo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF); a cooperation in the area of protecting children’s rights. The partnership aims to promote awareness of a variety of topics, including positive parenting and child development practices, bullying via a joint campaign, children’s rights, climate change and the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. The MoU also focuses on exploring the possibility of having an extended maternity leave policy in place at Ooredoo.
UNICEF is an international intergovernmental organisation mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to advocate for the protection of children's rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential.
