Continuing to support the Sultanate on its digital transformation journey, Ooredoo has announced the start of the construction phase of its brand new Data Centre. The Ooredoo Data Centre in Bawsher will be the location of the company’s new state-of-the-art facility, which is part of the telecom company’s efforts to develop a modern infrastructure that is able to deal with the requirements of the rapidly growing demand for hosting and digital data processing. The centre will boast a capacity of 600 racks capacity complementing the growing number of technical facilities Ooredoo Oman operates across the country.

Ahmed Al Abri, Chief Technology & Information Officer at Ooredoo, said, “The Sultanate is working hard to promote the development of the digital economy as set out in the Oman 2040 Vision, and the telecom industry has a really important role to play. Our new Data Centre will be a gateway to this digital transformation.
