With excitement and happiness in the air, Ooredoo volunteers celebrated Eid Al Fitr by spreading compassion and kindness to underprivileged families in Samail and Bousher in Al Misfah as part of this year’s Goodwill Journey. Working together with the Nidaa Charity Team and local branches of the Omani Women’s Associations, the team distributed shopping coupons, gifts and toys to over 175 families in the area ensuring everyone enjoyed the Eid festivities with their loved ones.

Now in its 18th year, the Ooredoo Goodwill Journey is the cornerstone of activities designed to support the community, bring joy and create new opportunities for sustainable social development. Each year, volunteers from Ooredoo travel the length and breadth of the country to assist charitable associations with their programmes and provide much-needed supplies to empower families in need.

This year, the Goodwill Journey focused on supporting the elderly, the youth, people with disabilities and launched a women’s incubator which will create new opportunities for small businesses to grow in Jalan Bani bu Hassan. Ooredoo volunteers also distributed food supply boxes to over 600 families in Salalah and Mirbat, as well as Barka, Mussanah, Nizwa and Yangal, as well as sharing Iftar Sa’am boxes to drivers stopped at traffic signals in Sohar and enjoying a special celebration for Qaranqasho at the Al-Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children in Al-Amerat.

First launched in 2005, the Ooredoo Goodwill Journey has enriched the lives of tens of thousands of people in Oman every year by providing essential appliances, educational equipment and vital supplies. The initiative has also supported SME incubators and helped to launch female-driven businesses and projects promoting growth, development and prosperity.
