Serving the community for a cleaner Oman, over 140 volunteers including members from Ooredoo family came together to clean up Suwaidi Beach in the Batinah Region. In collaboration with Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources (Barka Municipality), representatives from Oman’s local sports teams and school students, with the presence of Al Shumoos Medical Center volunteers worked in teams to collect more than 90 Kilos of waste and dispose of it properly. Volunteers were awarded with giveaways from Ooredoo.

Raed Mohammed Dawood, Director of Government Relations and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “We are always looking for ways to make a difference to the lives of people across the Sultanate. This starts with protecting our environment in order to create safe and sustainable communities today and for generations to come. Thanks to the Ooredoo family and all of the volunteers that took part in this drive, we were able to make a difference and create a positive impact on both the environment and the people involved.”

This event is the first of many ‘Ooredoo Volunteers’ activities, a new initiative that falls under ‘Ooredoo Goodwill’; the company’s CSR platform. With more activities in the pipeline, the company is empowering its family to play an active role in the preservation and conservation of Oman’s environment and to give a helping hand to communities.
