Ooredoo just dropped a major upgrade at the Manah Health Center with the installation of next-gen tech. This initiative is one of the 20 projects announced as part of the Ooredoo Goodwill Journey 20. It reflects the telco’s commitment to supporting and developing healthcare infrastructure across the Sultanate.

This project kicked off after Ooredoo and Manah Health Center signed a memorandum of understanding in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Faisal bin Ali Al Zedai, the Wali of Manah Province. The goal was to equip the space with the latest tech and gadgets, to create an enriching experience and create a lasting, positive impact on Omani society.

Ooredoo rolled the tech upgrades to uplift the learning and training experience at the center. This includes smart digital touchscreens that sync with Android, allowing for easy content sharing straight from smartphones. WiFi has also been boosted with an access point, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted connectivity for all devices. And that’s not all – new computers are now available for lecture participants, perfect for prepping and uploading data from the latest glucose sensor devices. Apple Vision Pro goggles — cutting-edge augmented reality tech — are now available to train medical staff in emergency response. This game-changing tech marks a shift for skills development in the medical field.

The revamped space officially was inaugurated in August 2024, transforming it into a futuristic tech-ed hub. It’s equipped to host meetings, health workshops, and educational sessions designed to boost health awareness and knowledge across the community, especially among students, with the goal of nurturing a new generation that’s not just tech-savvy but also health-conscious and ready to take on the world.

It is expected that the integrated smart tech at the Manah Health Center will serve every community member in the province, raising the bar for healthcare and education in the area. This project represents a successful model of collaboration between the private and public sectors in Oman. It underscores Ooredoo’s drive to push sustainable development forward, showing how partnerships can elevate quality of life and boost overall well-being in Oman.
