To mark the occasion of the annual International Day of People with Disabilities, Ooredoo donated specially designed equipment and devices to support people with disabilities and help them to reach their full potential. The recent activities took place in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and MWASALAT, the Oman National Transport Company, and Al Noor Associations for the Blind in Oman.

Aiming to support greater inclusion for those with visible and invisible disabilities, both within the organisation and wider society, the company actively supports activities to raise awareness, improve accessibility and inclusion, and celebrate the achievements of individuals with disabilities.

To mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Ooredoo donated several prosthetic devices to support those in need across different regions of the Sultanate. Braille sense devices were also donated to Al Noor Association for the Blind in the Muscat Governorate to support more than 130 of its members. At Al Noor Association for the Blind in the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, a special area will be created that includes several computers for the benefit of members. Ooredoo also provided innovative stairclimbing wheelchairs which will facilitate travelling in Oman when using MWASALAT ferries.

As an inclusive workplace, Ooredoo values the individual strengths of its team members, including professionals with disabilities. To learn more about Ooredoo’s inclusivity strategy and initiatives to support its all members of all communities across Oman, please visit www.ooredoo.om.
