In alignment with Breast Cancer Awareness month, Ooredoo, in collaboration with the Oman Cancer Association and Burjeel Hospital, carried out a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at promoting breast cancer awareness, education, and support within the community. These initiatives are part of Ooredoo’s ongoing commitment to enhancing community health, with a special focus on women’s wellness.

Throughout October, Ooredoo ran a comprehensive social media campaign and dedicated sections on the Ooredoo App to raise awareness about breast cancer, emphasising the importance of early detection, regular screenings, and preventive measures. By leveraging digital platforms, Ooredoo reached a wide audience, providing vital information on breast cancer prevention.

To extend the reach beyond digital platforms, Ooredoo partnered with the Oman Cancer Association to deliver direct support to women in Al-Khaboura. A mobile health unit visited the area, providing free mammogram screenings and sharing critical information on breast cancer prevention. This initiative ensured that women in remote areas had access to essential health services, supporting early detection and timely intervention.

Internally, Ooredoo organised a breast cancer awareness session for female employees in partnership with Burjeel Hospital. The session included hands-on demonstrations from medical experts on self-examination techniques, equipping employees with practical tools for early detection.

Ooredoo’s dedication to breast cancer awareness and women’s health initiatives is part of its broader CSR strategy. By promoting health education and offering accessible services, Ooredoo is making a positive and lasting contribution to the wellbeing of communities across the country.
