Ooredoo, Oman’s leading enabler of digital innovation, has signed a strategic agreement with Strategic & Precious Metals Processing (SPMP) to transform the Oman-based antimony producer’s business operations.

Under the agreement, Ooredoo will supply, implement, and manage its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution for SPMP over the next seven years – to enhance the automation of the company’s day-to-day operations like production planning, quality control, shop floor operations, HSE management, sales, distribution, finance management, and other key functional areas.

Located in Sohar, Oman, SPMP is the minerals and metals processing plant leading the way in leveraging green design technology to produce a clean source of antimony – considered a critical and strategic metalloid – for the international market.

SPMP was established in 2014 as a joint venture between the Government of Oman through Oman Investment Authority (OIA) , Tri-Star Resources Ltd from the UK, and DNR Industries Ltd, part of Dutco Group in UAE. Located at Sohar Freezone, its commercial metal processing facility produces high-grade antimony ingots, as well as powdered antimony trioxides, gypsum and gold doré bars.
