Continuing to enrich the lives of people across the Sultanate, Ooredoo has collaborated with the Ministry of Social Development to launch special sensory rooms for the Al Wafa Centre for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Children in Nizwa, Ibra, Al Khaboura and Al A’merat. The new rooms, include the latest technological equipment and devices that are designed to aid children with their cognitive development. The initiative falls under Ooredoo’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, ‘Goodwill,’ and is an extension of its long-term agreement with the Ministry of Social Development, under which a total of seven sensory rooms in social welfare centres across the Sultanate have already been created, with more planned in the near future.

Raed Mohammed Dawood Director of Branding, Communications and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo said, “At Ooredoo, we aim to create positive and long-term impact that benefits people’s lives. Since the launch of Ooredoo Goodwill, we have continued to focus on giving back to the Omani community. With our partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and Al Wafa Centre for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Children, we aim to provide children with the necessary and essential education tools to nurture them into becoming the leaders of tomorrow.”

As part of the Goodwill initiative, the Al Wafa Center for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Children was inaugurated in Al Amerat, where Ooredoo volunteers installed a carpentry room, a computer lab and a sensory learning room, in addition to opening of three sensory skills rooms in the Al Wafa Centers in Al Khaboura and Nizwa. Additionally, the pioneering telecommunications company was recently recognised during the International Day of Persons with Disabilities under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mahad bin Said bin Ali Baawain, Minister of Labour, for its prominent role in supporting people who are in need.

Ooredoo continues to collaborate with various organisations to deliver its message of ‘caring’ and translating it into reality. Through Ooredoo Goodwill, the company visits various charities, enabling Omani women to start their own businesses, providing basic educational materials to aid in nurturing future makers.
