Recognising that internships are a great way for young people to gain experience and boost future employability and job prospects, Ooredoo has launched their Ta’alaq internship programme for Omani students and recent graduates. It is designed to be an opportunity for young Omanis to hone their skills, increase their knowledge and ease the transition from study to the competitive world of work. Another aim of Ta’alaq is to share the achievements of top-performing interns on social media platforms, which will boost their portfolio and resume.

Sulaiman Al Mughairi, Acting Chief People Officer at Ooredoo, said “Oman has a young population and a growing number of graduates entering the job market, so the competition can be high for entry-level graduate jobs. The Ta’alaq Internship Programme aims to let students put the knowledge and skills acquired in school to use, while giving exposure to what work is like in real life. This unique opportunity will enable them to gain an insight into the way Ooredoo operates as an organisation, improve their understanding of the telecoms industry, and provide them with networking opportunities. Internships can give young people an important future foot in the door and help to set them on the right career path.”

A Ta’alaq internship lasts for a period of two months and will be taking place up to three times a year and for maximum of 15 competitively selected candidates per period. Always looking for ways to support the youth of Oman, Ooredoo remains dedicated to the development and creation of opportunities for young Omanis enabling them to fulfil their career potential and contribute to the nation’s economic growth.
