Continuing to support the community with timely and targeted initiatives, Ooredoo recently held a blood donation drive at the Blood Bank in Bowsher. Eligible employees gave much-needed blood, for the Ministry of Health, both for in-need hospital patients, and those suffering from COVID-19. Held under its CSR program, ‘Goodwill’, it is one of a string of initiatives Ooredoo has undertaken to support the Sultanate’s ongoing efforts to combat the pandemic.

“With ‘caring’ as one of our core values, we are committed to supporting our community and involving Ooredoo family members every step of the way. With the high demand for blood supplies in hospitals across Oman due to COVID-19, donating blood is a small act that has a big impact,” said Amaal Al Lawati, Chief People Officer at Ooredoo. “We are so grateful for the bravery of our medical workers during these difficult times and are proud to see so many of our employees doing their part to help save lives.”

Considering itself an integral member of Omani society, Ooredoo involves its staff in a number of voluntary initiatives, while raising awareness on the importance of humanitarian acts. With recent efforts focused on the COVID-19 pandemic, last year the Ooredoo family banded together to provide much needed medical supplies to hospitals. Meanwhile, the telecoms company continues to collaborate with the Ministry of Health to target help where it is needed.
