Continuing to inspire local communities and empower Omani women to fulfil their ambitions and aspirations, Ooredoo recently set up a two-day Ooredoo Incubator workshop at the Park Inn Hotel in Muscat. A number of women took part in the series of expert-led training workshops that included digital marketing, basics of phone photography, client and financial management tools and standards, and also an entrepreneur’s experience session and a motivational session. Among the participants were Ooredoo employees and families affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development, 45 of whom came from Ooredoo’s incubators, which are run in 17 governorates across the Sultanate. The initiative falls in line with the company’s ongoing commitment to engage local communities and foster entrepreneurship, while promoting home-grown products and services and nurturing the sustainable development of society at large.

Feras bin Abdullah Al Sheikh, Director of Branding and Communications said, “At Ooredoo, we know that when you empower women, you enrich society. That’s why we have set up incubators across the Sultanate to encourage and support women to build their businesses, market their products and prepare them to join the entrepreneurial community. Over the years, we’ve continued to help women across Oman through these initiatives and we look forward to supporting many more.”

As part of an active Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, Ooredoo runs a number of award-winning initiatives, including the Sultanate’s first ever women’s incubator programme, which started in 2015. By placing itself at the heart of the community, the company aims to support the advancement of the Oman people, encourage them and foster sustainable economic and social growth.
