Ooredoo recently completed the second week of its rewarding 20th Goodwill Journey (GWJ) across Oman, resulting in meaningful impact in communities across Oman. GWJ, Ooredoo’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, connects a dedicated team of volunteers with the community during Ramadan every year. Their aim is to spread joy and make a real and sustainable difference in the lives of others and to their environment so they can thrive.
During the second week of this year’s GWJ, the Ooredoo team worked with children, including disabled children and orphans, low-income families, and working women, to ensure they got what they needed to upgrade their worlds. The team delivered a carpentry workshop and distributed gifts at the Al Wafa Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children in Dima W’attayeen, benefitting hundreds of children. Putting even more smiles on little faces, the volunteers joined the Omani Women’s Association in Sur in the annual Qaranqasho celebrations with local children.
The next stop was Duqm, where the Ooredoo team donated desktops to various charities and Omani women’s associations from the Al Wusta Governorate in cooperation with the area’s Department of Social Development. After Duqm, the team travelled to Salalah, where it launched a ‘Kiswat Al Eid’ initiative by donating gift vouchers to low-income families and orphans. In cooperation with O Taxi, Ooredoo also sponsored the design of several taxis for women drivers with a limited income in Salalah. Last but not least, the team paid a visit to the Omani Women’s Association in Mirbat.
