Ooredoo marked the International Day of People with Disabilities by introducing tactile signage in its second-floor reception area and call centre, reinforcing its dedication to inclusivity and accessibility. This initiative is part of Ooredoo’s ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts to create an inclusive environment for customers, as well as build a supportive workplace where all employees, including those with visual impairments, can thrive.
The tactile signage incorporates raised symbols and textures, providing clear wayfinding information that helps individuals with no or little vision navigate confidently and safely. This aligns with Ooredoo’s mission to prioritise accessibility, enhance safety, and foster an inclusive environment for all team members and even visitors to the reception area.
Expanding its commitment to accessibility, Ooredoo previously launched Oman’s first Call Centre for hearing-impaired customers, enabling sign language communication via video calls. Supported by a specialised team trained in collaboration with Al Tawasul Institute and SignBook, the centre reflects Ooredoo’s dedication to empowering professionals with disabilities. By investing in innovative solutions like tactile signage and accessible call centres, Ooredoo continues to set the standard for inclusivity, enriching the lives of its employees and customers alike.
