In celebration of Omani Women’s Day, Ooredoo successfully hosted the Seventh Omani Women’s Forum last week. The forum, aimed at supporting and empowering Omani women, focused on enhancing their skills to positively contribute to their families, communities, and the national economy.
The event welcomed diverse attendees, including heads of Omani women’s associations, representatives from charitable partners involved in the SMS donation service, Ooredoo staff, incubator participants, and public and private officials. Together, they celebrated the achievements and potential of Omani women in shaping the future.
The forum featured a keynote speech by Khawla Al Amri, Chief People Officer at Ooredoo, who highlighted the vital role of Omani women in society and their significant contributions to the economy. A special song was also launched to mark Omani Women’s Day, and several women’s associations were honoured for their innovative ideas in the “Develop Your Incubator” competition, recognising their outstanding efforts to develop incubators.
A key segment of the event was a workshop on “Digital Marketing,” led by Mrs. Walyam Al Said, Senior Specialist in Digital Marketing, where participants learned effective strategies for promoting products to diverse audiences and boosting profitability. The forum also included a traditional Omani costume competition, adding a cultural dimension to the celebrations.
The event concluded with the opening of the “Best Product” exhibition, where incubator participants showcased a wide range of products, including handicrafts, palm-frond items, and personal care products. The top three products were recognised for their creativity and excellence.
Since its launch in 2015, Ooredoo’s incubator program has been pioneering in Oman, providing professional skills to women nationwide through 24 training incubators. As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility, Ooredoo plans to launch more initiatives in the future to continue supporting women’s empowerment and their contributions to Oman’s development.
