Enabling digital entrepreneurship across the Sultanate, Ooredoo has celebrated the 10th batch of graduates from its pioneering Springboard programme, an initiative that falls under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, Ooredoo Goodwill. A virtual graduation ceremony was held under the patronage of Her Highness Dr. Mona bint Fahad Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University, and in partnership with the University’s Center of Career Guidance. During the event, the Evaluation Committee also recognised the course’s three best projects, namely the ‘Camper App’, ‘Mersad device’ and ‘Panda Watch’.

Raed Mohamad Dawood, Director of Branding, Communications and Corporate Affairs at Ooredoo, said, “The past year has been challenging for companies as well as individuals across the globe, but at Ooredoo we have continued to reaffirm our commitment to Oman and its people as we put our core values into action. We were thrilled that, despite the obstacles presented by the pandemic and social distancing measures, we were still able to successfully conduct our 2020 programme online, making sure that women could continue to benefit from the valuable skills in leadership and entrepreneurship that it provides. We are proud to celebrate the graduation of a new wave of empowered women who are now able to contribute to strengthening the national economy.”

As part of its commitment to enriching society, Springboard has become one of the main pillars of the company’s CSR strategy. In recognition of its tangible achievements in creating a positive difference in society, Ooredoo Goodwill recently won the Gold Stevie Award during the seventeenth edition of the International Business Awards in the Middle East 2020.
