Ooredoo has appointed Ahmed Abdullah Al Abri as the company’s new Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTIO). In his new capacity, Ahmed will oversee the continued investment and development of technology to ensure seamless connectivity which caters to customers’ growing digital needs.

An industry veteran, Ahmed has more than 19 years of experience in technology, strategy, regulatory affairs and projects engineering. He has held a number of senior roles in Ooredoo and first joined the company in 2006 as Chief Planning Engineer in radio planning. In 2011, he took on the role of Director of Implementation and Infrastructure and was appointed as Director of Regulatory Affairs two years later before being promoted to director capability and program management in 2017. He has been appointed as Acting Chief Technology and Information Officer in 2018.

Ahmed holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Sultan Qaboos University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom. He is also a graduate of the Leadership and Development Programme from London Business School.
