Nawras Goodwill Journey 2 left Mudhaibi and travelled west into the Dakhliya region, towards Nizwa. Reaching the historic former capital of the Sultanate, the Nawras team headed for the Nizwa Al Wafa Social and Voluntary Centre. There they were delighted to donate learning tools and toys for the children, and it was not long before there was brightly coloured wrapping paper all over the floor with Nawras employees joining the youngsters, showing them the gifts.
Fatma Said Al Haji, head of the Nizwa Al Wafa Centre, said that it is a very good idea that Nawras has undertaken this programme during Ramadan. She went on to explain that the special toys donated by Nawras will greatly enhance the learning capabilities of the differently abled children and will prove very beneficial in the long term.
One member of the Goodwill Team, Tawfiq D R Al Balushi, explained his perception of the trip by saying, “Meeting so many different people amidst varied cultural settings has been a wonderful experience. The biggest joy has been to interact with the children, many of whom have various challenges and difficulties. It is a great blessing to be on this Goodwill Journey and I would like to be part of more such programmes.”
