The Goodwill Journey left Nizwa this morning, with the destination of Adam, a couple of hours drive away. Arriving in good time, Nawras entered the Omani Women’s Association, where a ceremony took place under the auspices of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Ghylani. Nawras made a donation of sewing machines, computers, chairs and tables for classrooms and office furniture. The children were not left out of course, receiving gifts and toys from the Nawras team.
The Director of the Omani Women’s Association, Asila Mohamed Al-Mahrooqiah, said, “I am so grateful to Nawras. I received a telephone call one month ago requesting a list of our Associations’ needs. We are in the process of planning training courses to teach tailoring skills and need the equipment to be able to do this. Fortunately, this requirement has now been fulfilled which will enable us to quickly put our plan into action. I am very happy for the ladies because this will generate income for their families and enable them to be self-sufficient.”
Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Ghylani, Wali of Adam, commented, “I accepted this invitation very quickly because I wanted to show my support and appreciation to Nawras.”
Zahir Al-Abri is participating in the Nawras Goodwill Journey for the second year running and explained, “Unlike the other Nawras employees, I will participate in the complete journey, for the full period of time it takes, because I am so happy to be part of this humanitarian initiative. This year I can see that the journey is much better organised and planned very well, which makes our duties easier and simpler.”
