The Nawras Goodwill Journey 2 reached Mudhaibi with perfect timing on Saturday, as the town’s Al Wafa Social and Voluntary Centre will soon be relocating from its current temporary premises to a new building, requiring equipment and furniture.
The head of the Al Wafa Social and Voluntary Centre, Khoula bint Ahmed Al Harthy received the Nawras donation of office furniture, chairs and tables for the students, computers and even one complete sports room equipped with a variety of sports goods.
“When I received this call I responded by requesting for all the things that we needed here. We would like to thank Nawras for this goodwill and its humanitarian gesture to us,” said Khoula.
Children at the centre presented an entertainment programme including some games and a sketch on the importance of vaccination set against a backdrop of lively music. Nawras presented toys and gifts to the more than 90 students, populating the centre.
Sheikh Awadh bin Mundhar Al Mandhari, Wali of Mudhaibi attended the programme and thanked Nawras for taking the initiative to reach out to the needy. Sheikh Awadh said, “Like Nawras, other private companies should also undertake such projects to complement and support the government in this developmental work. The Wali’s office is always ready to support such initiatives.”
