Goodwill Journey 2

The Ooredoo Goodwill Journey 2 began on Tuesday, 10 October 2006 at the Ooredoo Store in Salalah and visited Sadah, Mirbat, Mahout, Mudhaibi, Adam, Bahla, Nizwa, Sohar, Shinas, Suwaiq and Mahdah before returning to a rousing welcome at the Ooredoo Head Office in Muscat on Wednesday, 18 October 2006.

The objective of the 8-day Ooredoo Goodwill Journey 2, which saw a team of 11 Ooredoo employees travel in a convoy of Ooredoo branded cars, was to visit various charity organisations across Oman and support their philanthropic activities in the society.

Ooredoo Goodwill Journey 2 was a hugely successful initiative that reached out to charitable and voluntary associations across the Sultanate during Ramadan and showcased Ooredoo’ ongoing commitment for corporate social responsibility.

During the Journey, Ooredoo employees provided different charitable organisations with suitable donations, and spent time with the members and beneficiaries of the organisations they visited.

The intentions of the journey were aptly summarised by the Al Wafa Voluntary Association’s Co-Coordinator in Bahla, when she put the following heartfelt words in a letter to Ooredoo:

“Not many can understand the feeling of those who are not always able to enjoy a normal life like others, and only those who take an extra step to come really close to them, might understand the sense of difficulty felt by our children with special needs. This is an example of the work done by Ooredoo who chose to uncover the life of those children and decided to share with them the joy of life for a moment and get very close to their heart.”
